For our Queen Anne contemporary remodel, we worked with renowned Seattle architectural firm Deforest Architects. Almost the entire first floor of this traditional Queen Anne home was demolished and reworked, moving the locations of the kitchen and family rooms, and updating the dining room and living room.  By moving the kitchen to a different part of the house, we were able to put in a 10’ Nanawall door, opening to a beautiful new back deck extending their living space with an indoor/outdoor experience.  The new kitchen got a working an island, seating, and upgraded modern appliances. A combination of finishes was used throughout to bring simple textural interest; white oak and white painted cabinets, natural quartz counter tops as well quartz accents, and a subtle but modern backsplash of white tile with a unique shape. The buffet was updated with warm lighting and a new quartz tabletop for easy maintenance. A mix of custom and retail furniture in the family room was chosen for comfort and durability; and will last for years to come for this family.
